Suspects arrested in connection with charity scam

AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel in Irbid arrested a group of suspects on Thursday for allegedly impersonating officials who collect donations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
CID received information from businesspeople, traders and stakeholders who reported that a group was asking for donations to be distributed to disadvantaged families and students, introducing themselves as government employees.
CID personnel arrested them, and an investigation is ongoing ahead of referring them to the concerned authorities.
