World Tourism Organisation chief encourages tourists to visit Jordan

AMMAN — World Tourism Organisation Secretary General Taleb Rifai on Sunday encouraged tourists from across the world to visit Jordan, especially Petra, describing the Kingdom as a model among regional countries. In remarks to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Rifai called on the Tourism Ministry to invite journalists from different countries to visit the ancient city of Petra.
235km south of Amman, and publish their stories on social media outlets. He added that the tourism sector is the main supporter of economies, noting that no other sector can acquaint people with other cultures and motivate trade and economic performance.
