Officials visit forest project in Mujib

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat and Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi on Saturday checked on the project of “Jothour” forest in Karak’s Mujib District, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The project aims at planting various types of trees on 12,000 dunums.
It is implemented by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature.
Some 261,000 trees have been planted so far, including 11,000 pomegranate trees on 8,700 dunums. Hneifat and Issawi, who also heads a committee to follow up on Royal initiatives, toured an area that was planted with “wonderful pomegranate trees”.
