AMMAN — Border Guards on Thursday foiled an attempt by eight people to smuggle a large amount of drugs into the Kingdom from Syria at the northeastern border, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted a source as saying on Friday.
Border Guards applied the rules of engagement with the alleged infiltrators, who escaped into Syrian territories after three of them were injured, the source said.
After searching the area, army personnel found 384,000 narcotic pills and 332 palm-sized sheets of hashish. The total confiscated drugs weighed 127kg.
