Number of voters reaches million mark

AMMAN — The number of voters reached 1 million by 4:36pm, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) said Tuesday.
The number of eligible voters stands at 4,130,145, according to the IEC.
Voting for the parliamentary elections started across the Kingdom at 7am and will continue until 7pm.
The total number of voters in the 2013 elections stood at 1,288,043, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Meanwhile, five voters were referred to the prosecutor in Irbid's 3rd District for electoral fraud, Petra said, quoting the head of the district's electoral committee, Mahmoud Abu Jaber.
The official said the violations included two cases of voter impersonation and three incidents where the voters took photos of the ballot paper.
