AMMAN — Jordan is “eagerly waiting” for the international community to fulfil promised development projects in the Kingdom, Interior Minister Salameh Hammad said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a conference organised by the ministry’s Syrian refugee affairs directorate in cooperation with the UNHCR, Hammad said that the situation in Syria and the resulting refugee crisis have “weighed heavily” on the Kingdom’s infrastructure, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hammad underlined the need to respond not only to the immediate needs of refugees but also to the “long-term results” of the Kingdom’s population growth.
