Commission says Royal Falcon licence suspended over safety issues

AMMAN — The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) on Thursday said its decision to temporary revoke the Royal Falcon airlines’ licence was due to its failure to commit to aerial safety standards.

CARC acting President Ahmad Azzam said the decision was taken after the commission warned the company of violations. He noted that the airline had addressed the issues, but said that the violations then recurred, obliging CARC to suspend the company’s licence, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In a statement on Wednesday, Royal Falcon said CARC conducted its regular inspections on July 25 and July 26 and found that the planes were safe, noting that the licence was not suspended until August 15. Azzam said that planes’ capability to fly does not mean that aerial safety procedures are met.
