AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department has devised a long-term plan to depend on solar energy to power its offices and branches, said JCD Director General Maj. Gen. Waddah Hmoud.
He added that the department’s quest to adopt solar power in its facilities across Jordan would provide vital statistical data on the viability of solar energy production in the country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
The JCD has turned to solar power to reduce carbon dioxide emissions as well as its annual JD2 million electricity bill, Hmoud noted.
