AMMAN — Al Rai Arabic daily has launched a new interactive website as it seeks to boost its online presence.
The website, which was optimised with the latest technologies, features a new design and focuses on multimedia, said Dhaher Damen, the director of Al Rai website.
He said that the new, interactive website features videos and infographics, and its content is easily shareable on social media networks, adding that ads are displayed in a way that does not interfere with readers’ experience.
Al Rai daily is owned by the Jordan Press Foundation (JPF), which also publishes The Jordan Times.
The launch of the new website is part of the foundation’s plans to keep up with new trends in the media, Damen told The Jordan Times on Sunday, adding the website development plan will include news content and techniques to reach wider readers.
“We hope the new website will strengthen our news product and help us do our jobs more efficiently by communicating more with readers and advertisers,” he said.
Damen noted that Al Rai also seeks to boost the number of followers on its social media platforms.
Al Rai, which is Jordan’s largest print newspaper, has around 529,000 followers on Facebook and over 645,000 followers on Twitter.
The JPF is a shareholding company listed on the Amman Stock Exchange.
