Al Rai celebrates 45th anniversary

AMMAN – Al Rai, The Jordan Times’ Arabic sister publication, celebrates its 45th anniversary on Thursday. The daily was established by a Cabinet decision on May 18, 1971 as a government-owned newspaper.
The first issue hit newsstands on June 2 of the same year. Currently, the state-owned Social Security Investment Fund owns around 55 per cent of the shares of the Jordan Press Foundation, which publishes Al Rai and The Jordan Times.
