King invited to visit Turkmenistan

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Tuesday met with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredow, who delivered an invitation from President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow to His Majesty to visit the country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting attended by National Policies Council Rapporteur Abdullah Wreikat, Tarawneh voiced Jordan’s keenness to enhance bilateral relations with the central Asian country.
For his part, Meredow said his country is looking forward to improve relations with the Kingdom, commending its efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region and the world.
Turkmenistan is bordered by the Caspian Sea and largely covered by the Karakum Desert. Ashgabat, the capital, was rebuilt in Soviet style in the mid-20th century.
