9th issue of Al Qibla paper reprinted

AMMAN — The Jordan Times distributes on Monday the 9th issue of Al Qibla newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Great Arab Revolt.
The newspaper dedicates its editorial, written by Chief Editor Fuad Khatib, to discuss the significance of the 1916 revolt and its connection with the early Islamic history.
The paper, which stopped printing in 1924, includes in the issue at-a-glance news of developments in WWI, supplied through the cable service by its correspondents in several countries, including Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, the Balkans, Greece and Egypt.
The paper also covers lifestyle issues like the use of early telephones in Hijaz, in addition to an assortment of political, economic and social news stories and literary quotations.
The distribution of Al Qibla (1916-1924) by The Jordan Times and other local dailies is part of celebrations of the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt.
