WHO renews accreditation of Health Ministry’s polio lab

AMMAN — The World Health Organisation (WHO) has renewed the accreditation of the Health Ministry’s affiliated lab for polio for 2016 and 2017, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
The accreditation was made after a comprehensive review of the lab’s activities and the visit of Regional Adviser at Eastern Mediterranean Region of WHO Humayun Asghar last February, Health Ministry Spokesperson Hatem Azrui said.
The lab received a high ranking in the efficiency level tests, according to a letter sent from WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ala Alwan to Health Minister Ali Hiasat, Azrui said.
