PM says Jordan looks to further cooperation with Red Crescent

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met with Elhadj As Sy, secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

At the meeting, attended by Health Minister Ali Hiasat and Jordan National Red Crescent Society Chairman Mohammad Hadid, Ensour thanked the IFRC for cooperating with the Kingdom, noting that Jordan looks forward to enhancing this cooperation.

The premier said Jordan needs the federation's help to open clinics to treat Syrian refugees and to prepare operating theatres at hospitals close to the border.

The IFRC secretary general commended Jordan's efforts in hosting refugees, especially from Palestine and Syria, voicing the federation's interest in enhancing its partnership with the Kingdom.
