Police reports success in foiling fraud attempts

AMMAN — The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have foiled several fraud crimes during the past few months, a PSD statement said Wednesday.
The fraudsters attract their victims and deliver them several genuine $100 bills as bait, before they come again to receive the full amount.
CID teams carried out raids that resulted in apprehending seven suspects and seizing several weapons and counterfeit dollars, the PSD said, adding that the suspects were interrogated and referred to court.
Moreover, CID cadres have in foiled nine fraud plots with amounts ranging between $16,000 and $1.5 million.
