Hammad urges governors to play effective role in development

AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Monday urged governors to play an effective development role and contribute to the preparation of plans that meet citizens’ needs.

Presiding over a meeting on the Governorates Development Programme, Hammad said governors are the link between citizens and the government, stressing their role in attracting investments that can help reduce poverty and unemployment within their regions.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury, Minister of Public Works and Housing Sami Halaseh and Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi attended the meeting.
