AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Wednesday closed or suspended 20 food institutions in Amman and referred four others to court for violating health conditions and technical standards.

The administration said on Thursday that its inspection teams conducted 73 field visits during which they destroyed 2,900 kilogrammes of spoiled food.

The teams also destroyed 624 litres of unlabelled juice that was being sold on sidewalks and roads, and contained impurities. Another 45 institutions also received warnings for violating health conditions.
