AMMAN —The father of a 15-year-old girl who went missing along with her friend last week has appealed to the public for help in finding the two girls.
Last Thursday, 15-year-old Shaima and her 16-year-old friend Jumana went to a centre in Jabal Al Hussein to attend an English language course.
They arrived at the centre, finished the training and left at around 1pm but never returned home, Khaled Abdel Hadi, Shaima’s father, told The Jordan Times over the phone on Monday.
“We checked the cameras at the centre. My daughter Shaima and her friend left it. They don’t have mobile phones, so at around 5pm on Thursday we started searching for them in hospitals, police station and many other places but to no avail,” Abdel Hadi said, noting that Shaima has three brothers and three sisters.
The father appealed for help, calling on anybody who spots the two girls seen in photos circulated by the media to report to the police.
“We have faith that they will be back home soon. We hope that we will hear good news very soon. We in the family are very hopeful. We have no clue whatsoever as to where they are.”
He said the entire family started looking for the two girls, who completed the 10th grade this year.
“We are in daily contact with the police and they said there is nothing new in this regard and that they are working on finding them. Several days have already passed, I appeal to everyone who can help or knows something to help us. We need any help at this point,” Abdel Hadi added.
The Public Security Department was not available for comment despite several attempts by The Jordan Times.
