Goodwill campaign distributes aid in Sahab, signs deal with investors association

AMMAN — The National Goodwill Campaign on Monday provided aid to underprivileged families and university students in Sahab, within the campaign's plans to reach those in need across the Kingdom. 

HRH Princess Basma, president of the campaign’s higher committee, distributed financial aid to 20 university students identified as most in need through a study conducted by the Princess Basma Centre for Human Development in Sahab.

The princess also distributed in-kind assistance to 300 underprivileged families in the district within the food support programme.

Also on Monday, the goodwill campaign, which is run by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, signed a cooperation agreement with the Jordan Investors Association (JIA) in the King Abdullah II Industrial Estate in Sahab. 

Princess Basma and JIA President Naeem Al Khatib attended the signing ceremony. 

The agreement aims at enhancing cooperation between the employment office of the Princess Basma Centre for Human Development in Sahab and the goodwill campaign to offer various job opportunities in the area as well as in east Amman. 

The princess commended the efforts of JIA in creating job opportunities for young people as well as training them to qualify for the labour market. She also stressed the need to integrate women more effectively in vocational training and qualify them to join the labour market.

The National Goodwill Campaign's programmes, Princess Basma added, seek to address the problems of poverty and unemployment, and empower underprivileged segments of society.

Khatib thanked the princess for her charity work and for promoting volunteerism. 

Young people attending the meeting shared their success stories, mentioning how they found a job through the Princess Basma Centre for Human Development employment office and how they benefited from the skills workshops it offers.

The attendees discussed the importance of involving women in vocational training and the offering jobs for housewives to do at home.
