British war film premiers in Jordan

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Prince Raad on Wednesday attended the premiere of “Kajaki: The True Story” at Al Hussein Cultural Centre.

HRH Princess Majda Raad and HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, also attended the premiere.

The film, which highlights the ordeal of British soldiers trapped in a minefield in Afghanistan, was shot in Jordan near Kafrein Dam last summer with Royal support and facilities provided by the Royal Film Commission and the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.

After spending the summer of 2014 shooting “Kajaki The True Story” in Jordan, British director Paul Katis said on Thursday he felt “duty-bound” to return to the Kingdom to screen the film and share his experience with local filmmakers.
