550 Syrian refugee tents removed

MAFRAQ — Security bodies in Mafraq Governorate removed 550 Syrian refugee tents set up in makeshift camps within a campaign to eradicate this phenomenon, Governor Qasem Mheidat said Tuesday.
The inhabitants of the tents were sent to the Zaatari Refugee Camp, Mheidat added.
He explained that Syrians capable of renting a residence are allowed to live among host communities.

The Japanese government has extended a $500,000 grant to the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to finance the “Improving Safety and Security and Increasing Access to Comprehensive Services for Syrian Refugees in Zaatari Camp” programme, according to a Japanese embassy statement.
