US lawmakers briefed on reform, anti-terrorism efforts

AMMAN — Jordan and the US on Tuesday discussed bilateral cooperation and anti-terrorism efforts in the region.
At meetings with HRH Prince Feisal, the Regent, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Ahmad Safadi, the first deputy of the Lower House speaker, members of the US House Judiciary Committee were briefed on Jordan’s reform drive, its efforts to restore peace in the region and the difficulties it faces due to the Syrian refugee crisis.
The US delegates, led by Representative Bob Goodlatte, praised Jordan’s role in the region, especially in hosting refugees, reiterating the importance of having more US investment in the Kingdom and marketing it as a tourist destination.
