AMMAN — Prince Charles of Wales arrived in the Kingdom on Saturday for an official two-day visit during which he is scheduled to meet with His Majesty King Abdullah to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments.
Upon his arrival at Marka Military Airport, the prince was received by HRH Prince Ghazi, King Abdullah's personal envoy and adviser for religious and cultural affairs, in addition to several senior officials and officers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A British embassy statement said Jordan is the first leg in the prince’s regional tour, which will also take him to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
“The Prince of Wales’ return to the region, only one year after his last tour, demonstrates the importance Her Majesty’s government places on its association with key partners in the area,” the statement said.
Prince Charles previously visited the Kingdom in 1993, 2004 and 2013.
