Jordan, Japan stress commitment to fighting terrorism

AMMAN — HRH Prince Feisal, the Regent, on Tuesday received Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yasuhide Nakayama, who expressed his country’s appreciation of Jordan’s efforts in dealing with the Islamic State’s kidnapping of Japanese journalist Kenji Goto, who was purportedly beheaded on Saturday by the terrorist group.

Prince Feisal asserted Jordan’s condemnation of the terrorist crime which contravenes the doctrines and the teachings of all religions and international conventions.

The prince and Nakayama stressed their commitment to strengthening Jordanian-Japanese relations and called for intensifying international efforts to confront terrorism and extremism.

Nakayama expressed pride in the historic friendship between the governments, people and royal families of the two countries, led by His Majesty King Abdullah and Emperor Akihito.
