King congratulates nation on Prophet’s birth anniversary

AMMAN — Jordan on Saturday joined the Islamic world marking the birth of Prophet Mohammad, who was born on the 12th of Rabi Awwal of the lunar calendar.
On the occasion, His Majesty King Abdullah tweeted (Abdullah Bin Al Hussein #ABH) to congratulate Arabs and Muslims, highlighting the essence of the Prophet’s message of enlightenment, tolerance and the peaceful call to Allah.
“On this blessed day we mark the birth of our Arab Hashemite great grandfather, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who was sent to deliver mankind from the darkness of ignorance into the light of righteousness. We ask the Almighty on this occasion to bless our beloved Jordan and the Arab and Muslim world to guide our efforts to preserve Islam’s tolerant and peaceful message,” the tweet said.
His Majesty and HRH Crown Prince Hussein received cables of good wishes from heads of state and senior officials.
