Foundation entrusts local organisations to manage credit portfolios

AMMAN — The Jordan River Foundation on Thursday signed eight agreements with local societies in Tafileh, Maan, Mafraq and Jerash to manage credit portfolios.
The agreements are part of the Poverty Pockets Empowerment Programme, which is funded by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
Under the agreements, assessment studies will be conducted for the societies to identify their needs and abilities to handle lending portfolios to extend loans to the local community to start their own businesses.
