Army chief discusses ‘Eager Lion 2015’ with US general

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chief-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben on Tuesday met with Maj. Gen. Rick Mattson, the director of the US Central Command’s exercises and training division.
Discussions covered preparations to hold the “Eager Lion 2015” military drill, which will be held in Jordan at the beginning of next year.
The exercise focuses on wide range of offensive and defensive operations, while including disaster relief, strategic communication and rescue operations.

Academic training for the “Eager Lion 2015” military drill, which is slated for next month, started at the Jordanian Peacekeeping Operations Training Centre on Monday.
The Jordan-hosted “Eager Lion” international military drill kicked off on Sunday with the participation of 22 countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
