AMMAN — Police on Thursday arrested a suspect in connection with a death that took place during the Eid Al Adha holiday earlier this month.
The Public Security Department (PSD) received information on October 6 that a body of a man in his thirties was found outside his house in the capital’s Tlaa Al Ali neighbourhood.
The body was referred to the forensic unit, where the man was found to have sustained fractures and injuries due to excessive violence.
The examination of witness accounts and footage from traffic cameras installed on roads leading to the crime scene revealed that the victim had taken a taxi shortly before his death.
Investigators discovered that the taxi driver was the last to see the victim alive.
PSD staff managed to identify and track down the driver, who confessed to having an altercation with the victim when he drove him home.
The driver said the passenger refused to disembark, so he decided to drive off at an “insane” speed, causing the victim to fall out of the taxi.
The case was referred to the Criminal Court.
