AMMAN — The Council of Ministers was briefed on Wednesday on the Water Ministry’s monthly report of violations against water resources and networks for September 2014.

The Cabinet confirmed that the campaign, initiated by the government last year, is producing positive results.

The initiative has so far led to the closure of 432 water wells and the impounding of 25 drills.

It has facilitated the detection of 11,624 violations against water lines, Water Minister Hazem Nasser noted.

Also during the session, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh briefed the ministers on the increasing tensions at Al Aqsa Mosque as a result of Israeli violations against Muslim worshippers, highlighting Jordan’s contacts with the US and concerned parties to end these violations.
