23 imams suspended for violating preaching regulations

AMMAN — The Awqaf Ministry has suspended 23 imams for violating the regulations, Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood told Al Rai Arabic daily in a report published Sunday.
Dawood added that the ministry wants mosque sermons to promote Islam since they play a role in raising awareness among youths, Al Rai reported.
There are almost 6,000 mosques across the Kingdom.
