AMMAN — HRH Princess Sumaya, vice chairperson of the Jordan Museum Board of Trustees, on Monday chaired the second meeting of the CulTech for Heritage and Conservation Society on the “Bani Umayyad” project.

The EU-funded scheme seeks to promote archaeological attractions in the Mediterranean area that belong to the Umayyad era.

At the meeting, Princess Sumaya underlined the importance of the project in activating local tourism, calling on its steering committee to hold periodical meetings to follow up on its progress.

She also highlighted the need to hold a joint exhibition between the museum and the society to showcase Umayyad heritage in Jordan.
