Census ministerial committee convenes

AMMAN — The Higher Ministerial Committee of the General Population and Housing Census, chaired by Planning Minister Ibrahim Saif, held its first meeting on Thursday.
Saif stressed the importance of joint national efforts to ensure the success of the census, Department of Statistics (DoS) Director Qassem Zu’bi highlighted the steps that will be taken to carry out the 2015 census and the new technologies that will be used to facilitate the process.
Under the DoS Law, a census is to be carried out once every 10 years at most, and the last census was conducted in 2004.
