Jordanian skater set for 1st Winter Children of Asia Games

AMMAN — Figure skater Rayah Qaddumi is preparing to represent Jordan at the 1st Winter Children of Asia Games that will run until February 17 in the eastern Russian island of Sakhalin, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee News Service.
The Qatar resident is one of four skaters representing Arab countries at this inaugural event, which has been created to develop children’s and youth sports with the Jordan Olympic Committee keen to also develop young athletes across new sports.
“It is like a dream come true to be able to represent Jordan,” said Rayah. It will be a great experience to compete against top level young athletes and help me in my bid to develop. The event, which is supported by UNESCO and the International Olympic Committee, has welcomed over 3,000 athletes.
