AMMAN — Al Hussein Irbid secured their third consecutive Jordan Super Cup title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wehdat in the second leg of the 2025 final, held Friday evening at Al Hassan Stadium in Irbid.
The tie had been evenly poised following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at King Abdullah II Stadium in Amman, where goals from Rizziq Bani Hani and Mostafa Kamal set up a finely balanced showdown for the return fixture.
In front of a passionate home crowd, Al Hussein started the match with intensity and purpose. The team created a flurry of chances early on, pressing high and dominating midfield play. Despite several wasted opportunities and moments of resilience from Wehdat’s defense and goalkeeper, Al Hussein’s persistence finally paid off.
The breakthrough came in the 41st minute, when playmaker Yousef Abu Jabaloush, popularly known as Saisa, pounced on a loose ball inside the box after relentless pressure from Al Hussein’s attacking unit. The ball was snatched from a Wehdat defender near the goal line, and Sisa reacted quickly to slot it past the keeper with precision — a goal that perfectly captured the home side’s hunger and intensity.
Wehdat tried to respond in the second half but struggled to create clear chances against a disciplined and well-organised Al Hussein defense. The home side managed the game expertly, slowing the tempo and limiting Wehdat’s rhythm.
As the final whistle blew, celebrations erupted across Irbid, with players and fans alike embracing a moment that solidified their club’s growing legacy in Jordanian football.
