AMMAN — Zarqa Preventive Security Department officers on Sunday thwarted a JD0.5 million fraud attempt.
The Public Security Department (PSD) said the police had received information that a suspect was trying to sell two artefacts for JD500,000, claiming that they date back to the ancient Egypt civilisation.
After follow up, the suspect was arrested and found in possession of the two pieces, which proved to be fake.
The PSD urged people not to fall for such scams.
