AMMAN — The Zaha Cultural Centre and the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in organising local and regional economic and cultural events and exhibitions.
The agreement aims to support environmental and community initiatives, foremost of which is the "Green Wheelz" project, and promote the Arab International Plastics Exhibition and the "Beauty Jo" exhibition, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The MoU also seeks to facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge in exhibition management, marketing, and corporate communication, while encouraging the participation of youth and volunteers in events to develop their practical skills and open future avenues of cooperation serving mutual goals.
The memorandum was signed by the centre's Executive Director Rania Sbeih and the union's Secretary-General Mahmoud Jarrah.
Under the cooperation, the third edition of the International Exhibition for Plastics, Cosmetics, and Packaging will be held at the Jordan International Exhibition Centre (JIEC) at Mecca Mall between October 18 and 20, with a wide participation from local, Arab, and international companies.
Also, the "Beauty Jo" international cosmetics exhibition will be organised to provide a specialised platform to showcase the latest products and innovations in the beauty and personal care sector.
The exhibition aims to boost commercial networking and knowledge exchange among companies, specialists, and investors.
Sbeih underlined the importance of the partnership in expanding cooperation with institutions specialising in exhibition management, noting its positive impact on youth and the local community through providing qualitative training and practical opportunities.
For his part, Jarrah commended the Zaha Cultural Centre’s role in community service and empowering children and youth.
He stressed that the MoU represents a “significant” step towards boosting synergy between cultural and economic institutions, while supporting projects that merge community development, sustainability, and innovation.
The MoU entails collaboration in executing joint events, allocating dedicated spaces for recycling project activities and displays, and organising specialised training programmes in the exhibition and conference industry.
