AMMAN — The Telecom Regulatory Commission (TRC), in cooperation with the Groupe Speciale Mobile Association, on Thursday held a workshop on the “Protection of children against ICT misuse”.
The workshop focused on the protection of children from negative consequences of technology use, including examining the cultural differences of children’s mobile phone use, protecting children online and the need to organise the sector, according to a TRC statement.
TRC Chief Commissioner Ghazi Jbour said it is impossible to isolate children from culture and life, and that strict procedures cannot be applied.
Instead, Jbour said, it is important to adopt an approach that focuses on effective social responsibility.
