Winners of the Green Factory Award announced

AMMAN – Winners of the Green Factory Award, which aims to encourage environmentally responsible business practices and lay the groundwork for the country's transition to a green economy, were announced on Thursday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The winners of the award, which was launched by the Jordan Chamber of Industry's Energy and Environmental Sustainability Unit, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation's (GIZ) Green Action in Enterprises project, are the Fine Company, specialised in manufacturing sanitary paper, Siniora for Food Industries and Giant for Chemical Industries.

The three companies will be allocated 24,000 euros for the purpose of improving their opportunities. 

Deputising for Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh attended the award ceremony. 

The minister said that the award is in line with the government's economic policies adopted in partnership with the private sector with the aim of shifting to clean energy in manufacturing and production processes to reduce carbon emissions and environmental impacts.
