AMMAN — A delegation from the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Sunday visited the Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza.

The delegation received a briefing on the clinics and medical specialities available at the hospital, as well as the nature of the medical and humanitarian services provided to the people in Gaza, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The delegation was also briefed about the “Restoring Hope” initiative, which aims to provide prosthetic limbs to those who have been disabled due to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.

During the visit, the Royal Medical Services staff fitted prosthetics for a child from Gaza who had a triple amputation. Remarkably, the child could walk on the same day.

The delegation praised Jordan’s continuous efforts in various conflict zones worldwide, commending the leadership and management of the hospital’s personnel for their exceptional efforts in assisting patients and alleviating their pain and suffering.

The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army has recently deployed two mobile clinics to Gaza fully equipped with essential medical supplies to support amputees, as part of the Restoring Hope.
