AMMAN — Recent rainfall has channelled 38 million cubic metres (mcm) into Jordan's dams during the past 48 hours, raising the total storage of dams to 138 mcm (49 per cent) of their total capacity of 280.7 mcm, compared to 82 mcm (29.18 per cent) during the same period last year, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation said on Tuesday.
The largest quantity of rainwater inflow was recorded in the Mujib Dam, reaching 21,251 mcm and resulting in a storage capacity of 100 per cent. This is the largest amount that has entered the dam since its establishment in 2003.
