Water Ministry, USAID officials visit sewage treatment plant in Madaba

AMMAN — Secretary General of the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) Bashar Bataineh, accompanied by USAID Mission Director Sherry F. Carlin, on Thursday visited the Madaba sewage treatment plant, and checked on its development plans and future projects in the governorate.
Bataineh was briefed on the achievements and projects that have been recently realised in Madaba, such as the reduction of water loss in the governorate from 42 per cent to 28 per cent, in cooperation with USAID, which led to a lower number of complaints during summer, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also said that the water strategy seeks to enhance the efficiency of water and sanitation networks, reducing water loss and improving the capability of water resources.
