Water Ministry secretary-general meets with Youth Gov’t delegation

AMMAN — Jihad Al Mahamid, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, on Wednesday met a delegation from the second cohort of the Water and Irrigation Committee in the Youth Government and the Youth Parliament Project at the Ministry of Youth's Political Institute.

During the meeting, Mahamid highlighted the challenges confronting the water sector and outlined the strategies for addressing them, according to a Water Ministry statement.

One of the key challenges highlighted was water thefts and the protection of water sources. Mahamid commended the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, security agencies and judicial bodies in enforcing laws and regulations to safeguard water sources from pollution and unauthorised activities.

The visiting delegation expressed their appreciation for the insights shared by Mahamid. They also highlighted the importance of conducting training programmes to nurture their leadership capabilities, ensuring a secure future for the nation.
