Water Ministry officials receive Swedish delegation

AMMAN — Secretary General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation Jihad Al Mahamid, and Secretary General of the Water Authority Rami Aburwaq, on Wednesday met a Swedish delegation including CEO of the Stockholm International Water Institute Torgny Holmgren, and the institute's Chief Operating Officer Karin Gardez over the means of enhancing cooperation between both countries, notably in the field of water.
Talks focused on issues related to water resources management, global climate change, water management, irrigation, water distribution and reuse, and economic development priorities, according to a ministry statement. Mahamid emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two nations to realise the objectives of sustainable development.
The guest delegation expressed keenness to advance partnerships with Jordan and exchange technical expertise in the field of water management.
