Water Ministry, GIZ celebrate World Water Day

AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), on Wednesday celebrated the occasion of World Water Day.

Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Al Najjar said that the celebration confirms the ministry's role in consolidating cooperation with all civil society institutions and citizens to preserve water resources. 

On the sidelines of the celebration, Najjar inaugurated the National Water Exhibition, which included the distribution of brochures and media materials containing awareness messages to encourage citizens to rationalise water consumption, reduce loss, protect water sources from pollution and encourage water harvesting projects to achieve national water security, according to a Water Ministry statement.
