Warm weather forecast for weekend

AMMAN — Temperatures on Thursday are forecast to slightly increase following a significant drop in temperatures on Wednesday, which brought rainfall to the central and northern parts of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

On Friday, another slight increase in temperatures is forecast, bringing moderate weather around the Kingdom and warm weather in the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with westerly moderate winds, turning brisk in the Badia in the afternoon, the department said.

Further rise in temperatures is forecast for Saturday, when mercury levels will rise five to six Celsius degrees above their annual average, bringing warm spring weather to most parts of the Kingdom and relatively hot weather in the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, according to the JMD.

The weather department warned from low-visibility due to fog formation on mountainous areas on Thursday during the early morning hours.

On Thursday, temperatures in Amman are forecast to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 10°C, while on Friday they are forecast to range between 21°C and 11°C, increasing on Saturday to a high of 26°C and a low of 15°C.

In Irbid, temperatures are forecast to range between 15°C and 9°C on Thursday, 17°C and 11°C on Friday, and between 22°C and 15°C on Saturday.

In Aqaba, mercury levels on Thursday will be between 27°C and 17°C, on Friday between 29°C and 18°C, and on Saturday they are expected to increase to 34°C during the day and 22°C during the night.
