AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) — Arab Army, and the US on Wednesday inaugurated the Jordan Centre for Counter Extremism’s (JCCE) research facility in Zarqa Governorate.
The embassy’s military assistance programme supported the centre with over 1,000 specialised books for the centre’s library.
JCCE Director Col. Mohammed Aref Al Athmat, Colonel Marc LaRoche representing the US embassy, and Spirit of America Chief Operating Officer Isaac Eagan presided over the ceremony. The books were made possible through the efforts of the Military Assistance Programme and Spirit of America, an American non-governmental organisation, a US embassy in Amman statement said.
"The government of Jordan continues to be a bulwark in the ongoing fight against terrorism and extremism, and remains one of the United States most valuable and trusted allies," the statement said.
