US bluegrass band Act of Congress to perform in Aqaba, Jerash

AMMAN — Act of Congress, a US bluegrass band from Alabama, will hold a series of performances and activities around Jordan, including a free concert at Aqaba’s Revolution Plaza on Friday at 8pm, according to a US embassy statement.

The band will also be performing at the 2015 Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts next Tuesday at 8:30pm.

Bluegrass is a traditional musical form originating in the American south that pays tribute to the diversity of American music with roots in country, jazz, and traditional music that came to America from Europe, according to the statement. Moreover, the band includes vocals, bass, guitar, and mandolin.
