UNODC adopts Jordan anti-drug society’s slogan

AMMAN — The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has adopted the slogan of the Jordan Anti-Drug Society for the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The slogan, titled "The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention" is recognition of the Society's continuous efforts in drug prevention and promotion. The Society introduced this slogan several years ago during its activities at the 65th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna. In a press statement on Wednesday, the Society emphasised that investing in drug prevention is the optimal solution for building healthier and safer communities. It also contributes to reducing healthcare costs and the economic and social damages resulting from drug abuse. President of the Jordan Anti-Drug Society Mousa Tarifi expressed the Society's pride and honour in having its slogan adopted for the International Day Against Drug Abuse, noting that this achievement is the result of the Society's distinguished efforts in drug prevention.
