AMMAN — The UN Alliance for Sustainable Development Goals (UNASDG) on Thursday announced the establishment of a regional office in Jordan to provide services and follow up on the organisation's plan and programmes in the Middle East until 2030. UNASDG said that the establishment of the office is part of technical support and capacity-building plans in sectors related to health, energy, water, climate, oceans, urban expansion, transport, science and technology, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The office will begin its work in early February with David Rihani as executive director of the office, Nujoud Diqs as assistant executive director, director of international relations and spokesperson of the office, and Raad Abu Tayeh as adviser for official affairs and project development. Senator Reuben Egolf, UNASDG head, praised His Majesty King Abdullah's role in supporting sustainable development programmes and his keenness on the partnership between public and private sectors in serving communities and remote areas.
