AMMAN — The University of Jordan (UJ) has achieved a five-star rating in online learning, the first public university in Jordan to attain this rating, according to the QS Stars Online Learning Report.

QS Stars assessed the university's ability to deliver teaching online according to seven indicators: Student-faculty engagement, student interaction, student services and technology, online outsourcing, faculty-student ratios, commitment to online learning and track record that denotes how long an institution has been running programmes online, according to a UJ statement.

UJ President Abdul Karim Al Qudah said that the university has been able to maintain distinction during a delicate and difficult time during the pandemic.

Qudah added that UJ has supported every effort to advance the online educational process, including strengthening necessary infrastructure to successfully provide education during the pandemic closures, said the statement.

Based on legislation related to e-learning and a suitable infrastructure, UJ was able to accommodate high-quality learning and teaching needs in the online environment and overcome all problems, the statement said.
